Agentic shopping, for sellers
AI assistants now recommend products and, on some surfaces, complete the purchase. This page is written for the seller: what exists, what is live or still a preview, and what to do about it. Every row links to the official page we checked and shows the date.
Shutdown coming: Shopify Global Catalog REST API (deprecated) stops on 2026-11-02 (15 days). Official notice.
Why this matters if you sell online
- Discovery: agents choose from structured product data, so complete titles, attributes, prices and stock decide whether you get shown.
- Checkout: protocols such as UCP and ACP let an agent buy from you without sending the shopper to your site. You keep your own payment processor and customer relationship in most setups; check each platform’s terms.
- Trust and fraud: agent-identity schemes (Visa TAP, Mastercard Agent Pay) help you allow real agents and block scrapers.
- Measurement: GEO tools show whether AI answers mention your brand or products. Feed tools keep the data agents read clean and fresh.
Where to start
- Fix your product data first (titles, attributes, GTINs, accurate price and stock).
- On Shopify: review Agentic Storefronts. Elsewhere: look at Merchant Center UCP and Stripe’s feed-based suite.
- Only then consider visibility tracking and feed management tools, and ask for the pricing, which many vendors do not publish.

Read this before trusting an agent with money
Shopping agents can be fooled by fake stores and prompt injection, and may buy things the user did not intend. As a seller, publish accurate policies, keep prices and stock in sync, and expect disputes to involve an agent. This section will grow; we only list what we can source.
